Some Halloween Fun

So my daughter wanted to work on a project and i had the perfect thing for her...since i was busy getting 5 quilts ready for the fair i let her make my october  calendar quilt for my little quilt rack....she did everything except the fmq in the center and the french knots for the spider eyes....i just showed her what to do and off she went.  I am so proud of her and the job she did.

Here is is my mod christmas tree

So i finished up the wallhanging today but i couldnt get a great picture bc its been horribly gray outside today with lots and lots of rain from tropical storm Lee...so i am just going to post the picture from yesterday before i had the binding complete and the threads trimmed....i did the binding with the left over charms so its scrappy.  I did the fmq myself and lets just say i really do not like doing fmq at all....and i really love to send my stuff out until i get my own long arm machine...but i also am impatient when it comes to christmas stuff lol...i just love christmas....so here are the pictures

I started another project today and will post pictures of that soon as its finished except for the binding which i am working on tonight...while i was sitting in my sewing room.....its actually our formal dinning room that we never use for formal dinners....i was listening to the kids playing in the living room...they made a fort with just about every blanket and quilt in the house....well i hear them giggling and playing in the fort then i hear Aiden my 4 year old say " lets tell smooky stories"  lol i just giggled to myself how cute is that smooky stories...he is such a little ham.
Hope everyone had a blessed labor day

So i decided i am going to have my own party....a sewing party.  I am going to sew all weekend how fun is that?  I have some christmas charm packs that are just sitting here at they keep telling me to make something with them so thats what i will be doing,  be sure to stop back later this weekend to see pictures of what i am making.
Hope each and every one of you have a blessed Labor Day weekend

A Beautiful Finish

Here i am again back to blogging...i really am going to try and keep up this time.  So my Oasis quilt is finally quilted.  I call it my Oasis Chain and its from a moda bake shop pattern found here http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/03/chain-of-faith.html I absolutely love how it turned out and My long armer Charisma did a fabulous job.  Her talent is amazing and she always makes my quilts shine.  I am planning to enter this quilt in our local fair,  i have never entered anything so wish me luck.  All thats left to do on it is binding.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Thanks for stopping by my blog

Back to blogging

So i set up this blog and kinda abandoned it for a few weeks...life just got crazy.  We went to my brothers wedding up north and it was beautiful,  it was so nice to see family members that we have not seen in a long time and others that we have seen recently,  it was also nice to make new friends.
Well Kerry has deployed to Africa and we will keep the home front going while he is away...only 196 days to go lol.
I completed a quilt top among all the rush of travel and deployment and kids getting out of school,  here it is
i call it Journey with Oasis  ( the fabric is from Moda's oasis line)

i have to add the final borders but i was going back and forth as to what color i was going to use.  But after talking it over with some friends i have decided which one i will use.

Hello friends today starts my journey into the world of blogging.  I decided that blogging would help keep me on track with my projects and also will help pass the time when my husband is deployed.
I am so happy to post this quilt as my first blog post. I made this for my very good friend Krystal's baby who just happened to be born on my birthday.

when i learn how to add more pictures i will add more.  So hooray for me my first blog post.  Now off to work on one of my many projects
